“Regenerative ag” and “soil health” are terms we’re hearing more and more frequently both in the news and at the farmers market. Join Kristin Brennen, Soil Health Specialist to learn about the magical and mysterious world that exists beneath our feet and how we, as home gardeners, can nurture and protect our soil resource.

Kristin Brennan grew up in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and received her degree in Soil Science from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and has worked for the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service for the past seventeen years. She began her career with the Soil and Plant Science Division working on soil survey mapping and update projects across North Dakota, completing two mapping details to Oregon and Wyoming. For the past five years, she has served as the Assistant State Soil Scientist and Soil Health Specialist for Minnesota NRCS. She is especially passionate about soils education and outreach and her main focus is working with agency personnel, partners, and producers to promote and implement soil health practices on Minnesota’s diverse agricultural lands.
